Cartoonist’s Commentary:

For those who haven’t played or know about Half-Life, the headcrab is a creature that latches on to a humanoid’s head and eventually transforms the host into a headcrab zombie. The ‘Leisure Suit Larry’ angle to the story was initially meant to apply just to the headcrab for the sake of this particular strip and joke. But after finishing the strip and kicking around the concept some more, I decided to run with it and make it part of the wider invasion story. And run with it I did… probably to excess, but as long I still think it’s funny I’m going to keep doing it… 😁
