Cartoonist’s Commentary:

A few years back, the company I worked for was awarded a large defense contract, which their competitor promptly challenged (as is typical in the industry). Shortly afterward we started receiving emails from the company encouraging us to call our senators and representatives to convince them that our company deserved the contract. Never mind that our department would have nothing to do with the program or see any benefit from it. So basically, the company was looking to use us as a pool of unpaid lobbyists at the same time they pay many millions to professional lobbying groups to do the same thing. If I’m going to sell out and be a shameless shill for the company, I at least expect to get that fat lobbyist cash, right? 😒
