Cartoonist’s Commentary:

Like the two years before, my family and I spent this last Thanksgiving in Mongolia instead of the United States. While the holiday isn’t observed here (except for US expats like myself and the Canadian expats who have their own Thanksgiving day), you actually can find turkeys (Mongolia-grown even) in the store here now. They’re rather expensive (even for being essentially ‘organic’) at well over $4/lb and they’re on the small side… but since it’s just not quite Thanksgiving without turkey I bite the bullet and buy it anyway. And yes, I put LOTS of bacon on it.

Interestingly enough, while most Mongolians don’t know much or anything about Thanksgiving, it turns out ‘Black Friday’ IS a thing here and we are deluged with Black Friday advertisements. I almost find that amusing in a twisted, mildly depressing kind of way… 😉
