Some may wonder how Ash would have become the Commander. Basically the timeline diverged about a year or so back from the point of the start of the Nerd By Northwest comic strips, where he was hired into a science position with the XCOM project just as it was being started. There are tentative plans to cover how he got promoted in later installments…
